You don't have an HTTPS secured site yet?

HTTPS, an acronym that every website and e-shop operator should know. HTTPS stands for Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure, and unlike regular HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol), it adds encryption to all communications flowing between the web and the Internet. In simple terms, this means, for example, that the data in an order is sent encrypted at the e-shop and only decrypted again at the e-shop operator. This significantly eliminates the possibility of eavesdropping, site hacking and subsequent data misuse.

We provide several reasons, in addition to the already mentioned security, why to use the HTTPS protocol and why it has become a common standard in recent years.

Google favors HTTPS sites from an SEO perspective
We've already touched on this issue in our article on WARNING! Google Chrome sues over insecure sites  Security is one of Google's top priorities, which is why HTTPS gives secure sites a significant SEO advantage over traditional HTTP. Thus, secure pages will have a much better initial search position and are also prioritized for indexing.

The Google Chrome and Mozilla search engines mark unsecured sites and e-shops and even more prominence is planned for the future.

E-shops without HTTPS are out of luck
If you're running an e-shop and don't have it secured with HTTPS, you're not going to make a dent in Heuristic Cart and Google Shopping, popularly speaking. Google refuses to provide advertising for items leading to unsecured sites. And according to surveys, it is confirmed that even many customers change their minds about buying from an unsecured e-commerce site. After all, there is a lot of personal information to fill out when making a purchase.

Without HTTPS, forget GoPay
The GoPay payment gateway does not work with unsecured e-shops. And it is most likely not the last payment gateway to require this security, with more to join in the future.

And there's that security again
The most important reason for using HTTPS is to protect sensitive and personal data that is communicated through your website/e-shop. With the impending revolutionary tightening of data protection in the form of GDPR regulations, it is more than desirable to have your data unbreakably secure in your own interest. You will avoid the astronomical penalties of the regulation as well as the inconvenience of misuse of your company data or sensitive customer data.

Users who log in to you using an insecure HTTP protocol are very easy targets for hackers. Protect them!

Competitive Advantage
In our daily experience, many website and e-commerce providers see the importance of HTTPS. Every day, we convert one of our clients to a secure version of their site. There is no need to wait. Unless you want to give the competition a generous head start.

Learn more about your customers
When you communicate with an unsecured site, only the most essential information is communicated, whereas if you have a secure site and encrypted communications, you get much more marketable data about your customers.
