The most used passwords of 2017
Personal privacy security gamble or natural reality? For the fifth time, teamID has analysed leaked password databases and compiled a ranking of the most used passwords of 2017.
The results may be a bit of a surprise, but if you think about it more, they're not that surprising. The rankings are led by the classic number series 1234345, followed closely by password. There are several simple number series in the top 100, as well as letter series from the keyboard such as "qwerty" etc. There are also first names or common words or simple expressions like iloveyou or football. So these are not sophisticated or sophisticated codes.
We can be horrified at how flippantly we enter passwords, on the other hand, in an age where you need a password for almost every online application it's no wonder and sometimes saving time wins out over coming up with unbreakable code. Moreover, simple passwords are mainly used for applications where there is not much risk of leakage. Another way of looking at the issue is that the likelihood of sophisticated and complex passwords being repeated and thus affecting the ranking is low and illogical.
Although the ranking is not a surprise we would like to appeal to you. Think about your passwords and security, especially for applications where there is a high risk of personal information being misused such as accessing online banking, online health insurance connections, your email, corporate access, etc.
