New version of Chrome cracks down on ad aggressors

Google has come up with great news! The new upcoming version of Chrome browser number 71 will actively block all advertising on sites that repeatedly treat users aggressively starting in December.

Yes, you read that right, aggressively. This means the types of ads that display misleading app download buttons, contain links that open pop-up windows, display false warnings or errors, redirect the user elsewhere without their knowledge, and so on.

Although the February version of Chrome 64 already tried to channel this inappropriate ad overkill, the original solution didn't have enough impact, and roughly half of these annoying sites made it through.

But don't worry, you'll still have the ability to control the blocking yourself in your browser, and choose your own settings and whether you want to block ads on such sites. Now, don't worry as an advertiser either. At Railsformers, we create ads that are optimized and definitely do not fall into the penalty algorithm.
