IQRF Summit 2018 focused on the Internet of Things
Summit for developers, manufacturers, system integrators and anyone interested in IQRF wireless technology and the ecosystem around it.
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a major phenomenon of the last two years and sooner or later everyone will encounter it. Since the topic is of interest to us at Railsformers, we attended the IQRF Summit 2018, a meeting of manufacturers of "smart" devices and their integrators - companies that ensure the integration of these devices into a concrete useful whole. This allows companies to join forces in the search for a universal solution and saves development and testing costs.
The two-day summit included a series of presentations by companies and institutions involved in the IQRF Alliance and workshops where visitors could experience the application of the technologies in practice.
We saw easy pairing that will make it easier to set up different sensors for the end customer and new alliance members, including IBM.
Many completed projects were presented and showcased, such as automatic greenhouse, or air quality sensors integrated in street lighting. Artificial Intelligence is increasingly making inroads into the Internet of Things to process measured data and predict future data.
There was an interesting talk on security in the IoT, which is certainly one area that will need to be addressedZ. Individual sensors and other devices are designed for a lifetime of, for example, more than 10 years. If we look back 10 years, for example, at the encryption algorithms commonly used at that time, perhaps not a single one of them is used today due to lack of security, and development is accelerating - this must also be taken into account in development.
If you are interested in details or have specific questions in tho area, please contact us. We would be happy to discuss the topic.
