Business Manager is a handy marketing tool designed primarily for commercial use of Facebook. That is, you will use it if you want to communicate and promote your business through Facebook and separate this communication from your private profile.
Considering setting up Facebook Business Manager but not sure if it's the right product for you? We can assure you that if you have at least minimal ambitions for Facebook and it serves to drive sales, communicate with customers, promote your brand, and similar purposes, you'll love Business Manager. And it's free!
What is Business Manager good for?
If you're wondering what Business Manager would be good for, we're going to throw a few reasons at you right now that are definitely worth considering whether or not to get an account right away.
- Do you want to use Facebook dynamic remarketing (this is a tool you're all familiar with that makes it so that if a customer views your products, they then pop up and are reminded of them on Facebook)? Count on the fact that the only way to retrieve the XML feed is just using Business Manager.
- Need to access multiple advertising accounts or company pages from your personal profile? In that case, Business Manager will be a great help.
- Is it a necessity for you to have multiple people accessing one advertising account or company page ?
- You can also use Business Manager if you work with an agency that handles your Facebook ads or business pages.
- You can share a single Facebook Pixel between multiple ad accounts.
It's good to mention that you could have solved some of the points in other ways, but Business Manager presents a solution that is one of the more elegant ones.
How to set up Facebook Business Manager
When you type business.facebook.com into a search engine, you'll find a Create Account button at the top right. Because Business Manager is linked to your personal Facebook account, you will need to sign in first.
The next steps involve filling in your company name and your company email.
Click Finish and you're done with the first, and unfortunately the easier, part. The next stage is to set up Business Manager to serve you to the best advantage.
After logging into Business Manager, you will see three important buttons at the top of the screen:Add Page, Add Ad Account, and Add People.
How to add pages to Business Manager
Most often you will be dealing with adding a page that you own. But you can also request access to someone else's page or create a new page. In the main menu, simply click on the Add Page button. You don't have to worry about messing up a page you don't own - you can't get anywhere else without the permission of the page owner anyway.
If you're just getting started with Facebook ads, you'll need to start by selecting Create New Page. You can't set up ads without a Facebook page.
How to add ad accounts to Business Manager
Once you add an ad account to Business Manager, this step is irreversible and means you will now be logging in to your ads via business.facebook.com.
You will be in a similar situation to the previous step. Three options will appear in front of you. Most often, you already have an ad account, then you'll choose Add Ad Account. But here you also have the option to request access to another company's account or create a completely new account. And it's worth mentioning the last option, which allows you to have multiple advertising accounts under you, which can be especially useful for owners of multiple businesses.
How to add people to Business Manager
If you plan to share ads with colleagues, employees or agency staff, then you can easily add these people to Business Manager. Simply fill in your email and select a role. Then for each person you can choose which pages and accounts they will have access to and also set their permissions.
