Story-stories: new website for adventure races

Trail races in nature are attracting an increasing number of runners who are not only looking for athletic performance, but also for a deeper experience. The project Pří-běhy.cz builds on this idea. It offers not only running routes up to 50 km long, but also shorter circuit variants that are ideal for beginners or less experienced runners. In addition, it brings unique stories that connect nature with Czech history. Every year in a different place, every year a different story. And it is for this project that we at Railsformers have created a website that reflects its core values - speed, reliability and accessibility for all users.

The pre-runs are intended for professional and amateur runners and tourists looking for unusual experiences. Our role in creating the website was pivotal – we created a modern and user-friendly platform where participants can register and conveniently pay the entry fee. In addition, the portal includes a space for progressive posting of race clues, which helps to build excitement and interest in the races themselves.

The first edition of the “Tales of the Tales” took place in November 2023. Two Railsformers members, Lucka and Tom, decided to take part in the race themselves and experience first-hand what the Tales of the Tales have to offer. Thanks to this, they had the opportunity to experience not only the atmosphere of the race, but also the whole concept of the event, from the story setting to the organizational background. This experience also helped us to better understand the specifics of the project we were working with when creating the website.

The main added value of the Story-lines is their unique concept. The races are not just about measuring performance, they connect participants to a specific location, its landscape and the story that is attached to that place. The fact that each edition is held in a different location, with a new story and unique experiences that include, for example, accommodation and an after party, helps to build this atmosphere.

This project shows how a functional and well-designed website can support unique content. With simple controls and a modern design, visitors are easily engaged and can become part of an unforgettable adventure in moments.
