For a year now we have been supporting the All the Czech Republic Reads to Children charity. And not only us. The campaign enjoys the support of ministries, libraries, various companies and more than eighty celebrities. Because children are our future. After all, it's so easy to get involved. What is the mission of the Whole Czech Republic Reads to Children campaign?

Regular reading to children is of great importance for the development of their personality. Reading to children develops memory and imagination, teaches them to think. "Reading forms a strong bond between parent and child. Just 20 minutes a day is enough. Every day," adds another positive aspect of the company's director Eva Katrušáková. Today's children are growing up in a very language-poor environment, where the spoken word has been displaced by television. Many parents mistakenly believe that a child can learn to speak thanks to conveniences such as the Internet, a smartphone or a tablet... But modern technology is robbing children of their imagination and the sense of the spoken word is being lost. It is reading from books that will ensure their better emotional health.

The nationwide campaign also aims to persuade parents to make time for their children. 20 minutes a day is a time that may seem short, but it really gives a child a lot.

How do we at Railsformers get involved?

For the Whole Czech Republic Reads to Children campaign we manage the online marketing and look after their website and e-shop. We have become the main partner for IT support.

We are rewarded for our quality work

You may have noticed the Railsformers logo on all the promotional leaflets, books and also bookmarks given out as part of the campaign. In addition to the materials directly in the hands of the participants, our logo was also visible on all the posters and in the video presentations in the events that the charity has organised in the past period.

What next?

We support projects that make a difference. Whole Czech Republic Reads to Children is proud of several titles, including winning the 2017 Nonprofit of the Year competition in the Small Nonprofit category. We will continue to be the main IT support partner for the campaign and will do our best to get involved as much as possible.

Want to get involved too?

Almost anyone can get involved in the national campaign. You can help both financially and personally. You can choose from the following options:

• Financial support: For financial donations, the company will issue a year-end certificate to the tax office, which will give you tax relief;
• volunteering: read a book to children in hospitals, you will be a light on their difficult days;
• companies: support the project by organizing a book collection and motivating employees to get involved, your logo will appear on all promotional materials of the Whole Czech Republic Reads to Children campaign;
• Institutions: Schools, kindergartens, nursery centres and many other institutions or individuals with a commitment to organising group readings for children can join the campaign.

You can of course support the Whole Czech Republic Reads to Children campaign by reading from a book to your children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews at home for at least 20 minutes every day. Research shows that people who like to read achieve better academic and professional results than "non-readers" and are better able to cope with life's challenges. A love of books should be developed from childhood onwards.
